From Participation to Podium

MSI is a Rwandan-led, community-driven sports and wellness organization founded by former national team athletes and coaches. We bridge grassroots participation and elite performance, empowering children, youth, and adults to thrive through structured sports, competitions, camps, nutrition education, and modern coaching.

We believe Rwanda has immense talent waiting to shine. By nurturing skills, discipline, resilience, and healthy habits from an early age, we move our nation from simply participating in international competitions to consistently reaching the podium at regional, continental, and global events.

Our Mission

To build a Rwanda that not only participates in international sporting competitions but competes and wins on the global stage, producing athletes capable of achieving podium finishes at regional, continental, and international events.

Our Vision

To develop elite athletes, professional coaches, and sustainable high-performance sports systems that move Rwanda from participation to podium performance.

Strategic Goals

  • The Medwell Sport Initiative aims to achieve the following long-term goals:
  • Develop internationally competitive athletes through structured youth development pathways.
  • Strengthen Rwanda’s sports ecosystem by supporting coaches, schools, and clubs with modern training systems.
  • Create talent identification and development structures that discover promising athletes across communities.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and wellness through sport participation and nutrition education.
  • Establish high-performance training environments that support athletes preparing for elite competition.
  • Create sustainable sport programs that support long-term athlete development rather than short-term results.

Strategic Objectives

To achieve its goals, MSI focuses on the following objectives:

  • Youth Development: Provide structured sports programs for children and youth aged 5–17 through school partnerships, training academies, and camps.
  • Talent Identification: Organize scouting camps, tournaments, and competitions that identify promising athletes.
  • Coaching Development: Provide education, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for coaches.
  • Competition Platforms: Organize structured competitions and tournaments that expose athletes to high-level play.
  • Digital Knowledge Access: Develop a digital coaching and athlete development platform that allows athletes and coaches to access high-level training resources nationwide.
  • Wellness and Nutrition: Integrate nutrition education and healthy lifestyle programs into all sports development activities.
  • High Performance Development: Support the creation of an Elite Sport Center that integrates sports science, conditioning, rehabilitation, and performance analysis.
